IIChE is born with nationalistic aspirations -
To spread Chemical Engineering education and to foster the interest of the Chemical Engineering.
A modest beginning was made on 18 May 1947 with 30 members, little fund and nominal infrastructure.
IIChE has come a long way since then - now, more than 30,000 members.
As a dynamic body, IIChE wants to keep all its doors open, welcoming new members, new ideas and new visions in its journey forward.

About us
The Baroda chapter of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE – BRC) is located in the Large/Mid/Small-scale Chemical Industry hub & Cultural City of Gujarat. Baroda enjoys presence of major chemical complexes like IOCL, RIL, GSFC,GACL,Nandesari industrial estateand also Engineering majors like L&T, Linde, Worley Parsons and many more, with presence of recognized universities such as Maharaja Sayajirao University, etc.
The Centre’s office at 605, Ivory Terrace, R.C. Dutt Road, Baroda-5 was inaugurated on 21st February 1992. Apart from the office room and Board Room, a 50 seater Lecture/Seminar room is also available in the office premises.
The IIChE – Baroda Regional Centre was founded in year 1975 with Shri K.T. Doctor as the Ad-hoc President with a view to bring together chemical engineers working in this area and to promote chemical engineering related discussions, seminars, training programs etc. The First Annual General Meeting was held in Dec. 1976. Since then, the following presided over the destinies of the Centre.
